FAQs

What is a bundled payment?

Patients: Bundled payments may sound complicated but they’re not. A bundled payment is simply a single price for the care required to treat a medical condition. G1 Surgery simplifies the process.

Providers: G1 Administrators, LLC is a licensed third party administrator that has contracted with insurance companies to administer a bundled payment program. The program simplifies the claims process, reduces expenses for the providers and the patient by bundling the services for the surgical episode.

How do bundled payments work?

Patients: G1 is a licensed Third Party Administrator (TPA) and works between your insurance company (for example: Blue Shield or a self-insured company) and the doctors that do the work. Our goal is give you one price before the procedure, with a bill that you can easily understand.

Providers: G1 acts as the insurance carrier for the date of surgery. G1 collects your patient’s co-payments/deductibles/out of pockets for the surgical procedure, and administers the payment to each provider. We have contracted with payers, have dedicated network of certified facilities, and a team of experienced bundle administrators to perform the back-end work to simplify the billing process for you, and your associated providers.

Why is one payment better?

Patients: The methodology draws on the approach of almost every other industry. When purchasing a car, consumers don’t get a bill for the motor, brakes and interior from different suppliers. Why in healthcare do we ask patients to pay each provider on an individual basis?

The average American can have up to 9 operations in their lifetime. If you haven’t been through it yet, you or a close family member will. There IS a better way. The G1 program is one payment. We bundle everything together for one price. One price that you can understand for everything AND we set the prices in advanced.

Providers: Bundle payments promote collaboration amongst providers, and put clinical control and revenue opportunities in the right hands.

Who benefits from bundle payments?

Patients: You will receive one price for your operation that you can understand AND we set the prices in advanced. We make it simple – and are often significantly less expensive and more predictable than a hospital bill.

Providers: Bundle payments promote collaboration amongst providers, and put clinical control and revenue opportunities in the right hands.

How is G1 involved in my care episode?

Patients: A G1 customer service rep will call you to discuss the benefits related to your plan and the out of pocket expenses you should expect. G1 will collect your co-payment, deductible, or out of pocket on behalf of your providers for the surgical episode. This includes all the things you need for the day of your operation bundled into one simple fee. For example: surgeon, assistant, anesthesiologist, medications for the day of surgery, nursing, and even post-operative care in some cases

Providers: We have contracted with payers, have dedicated network of certified facilities, and a team of experienced bundle administrators to perform the back-end work to simplify the billing process for you, and your associated providers. We provide cost transparency to your patients and collect and distribute payments.
